Good Safety Policies
Good Judy's has created a robust safety plan to ensure our guests have a safe environment to find their Somewhere....
This includes training on the following:
- ServSafe Food Safety Licensure (Level II - PIC)
- ServSafe Alcohol Service Training
- ServSafe De-Escalation and Active Threat Training
- BRAVE Bar Program
- Red Cross First Aid/CPR/AED Training
- Red First Aide for Opiod Overdoses
Good Judy's contains safety measures and equipment as part of our Threat Mitigation Strategy along with an Evacuation Plan. While Commerical Fire Suppression Equipment is not present, Fire Extinguishers are available in multiple marked locations throughout the space. Their location is marked with a Red Circle on the Fire and Medical Emergency Map posted throughout the space. Fire Extinguishers located in both restrooms are stored below the sink. First Aid Kits are available from the Bartender on Duty for guest use. Naloxone is available onsite should there be a suspected Opiod overdose however it will only be administer by the Emergency Commander/ Person in Charge that time. No AED is available on-site. The preferred Emergency Exit is out the front door to Hamilton Avenue. Active Threat Plans are not publicized however in the event of an Emergency, follow the instructions of the Emergency Commander/Person In Charge (PIC).
Aggressive behavior and inappropriate sexual advances will not be tolerated. If discovered, you will be removed from the building and banned permanently. Consent is never negotiable.
Security Cameras are present even if they are not readily seen to monitor Good Judy's. When you are present in Good Judy's, both video and sound are being recorded for the purposes of investigating problematic events or individuals impacting our Guest experience. These digital assets are only reviewed when necessary to take action or comply with a judicial order. We will not share or sell the audio or visual contents nor will we furnish the contents to any party unless directed by a legitimate court order. Prior to providing any footage, all requests will be reviewed by our Attorney and limited to the specific scope of a legitimate, legal request. Footage is maintained for an undefined period of time not less than 90 calendar year.. Do not ask for the footage or expect it be furnished for any reason without a court order. This is to protect the privacy of all individuals that choose Good Judy's.
No Firearms are permitted inside Good Judy's, including those with legitimate Concealed Carry Permits.
We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone and will do in line with our policies listed below.
Emergency Protocol
In the event of an Emergency, you are instructed to follow the instructions of the Good Judy's Bartender's on duty. They are Emergency Commander and Person In Charge (PIC). It is VITAL that you do not deviate from the instructions provided by the Bartender(s) as they are trained to the Emergency Plan and your deviation could impact the well-being and safety of other guests.
Criminal Matters
It is the policy of Good Judy's that we maintain an inclusive environment and only under the rarest occasions, exclude individuals or groups from coming to Good Judy's or holding events at the space. Accusations of criminal acts will be immediately referred to the appropriate authorities. Good Judy's will. not conduct our own investigation but refer and defer to experts in such matters. Only law enforcement professionals are not equipped to investigate criminal matters. Their determination will be the final determination regardless if there are varied perspectives on the incident. Those convicted for actions at Good Judy's will be excluded. Those convicted for crimes which could impact the safety and well-being of our guests will also be excluded.
Civil Matters
It is the policy of Good Judy's that Civil Matters between one or more parties are treated as such. Disagreements or actions of a non-criminal nature that likely have not occurred on the premises of Good Judy's. These are generally contract related disputes or matters not rising to specific criminality. Good Judy's does not have any standing to take action to exclude individuals or groups as a result of matters of a civil nature. The exclusion to this policy are Protective/Proximity Orders. See the next section.
Protective Orders/Proximity Exclusions
It Is the policy of Good Judy's to comply with all Protective Orders (Emergency or Otherwise). If a Patron has an active protection order where another patron is a party, we will request of the party who arrived 2nd to depart the premises. You should ensure that you have a copy (digital or other) readily available upon request.
Should you not be able to furnish the order, we can not assist with enforcement by excluding the other individual from the public space. While we reserve the right to refuse service to anyone, it is our policy to only do so for cause.
Protection/Proximity Orders where one of our team members is a party can not be enforced reasonably by being at a person's place of employment where they are required to be.
Firearms/Other Weapons and/or Conflicts with Good Judy's Team Members
Firearms are prohibited inside Good Judy's. This includes firearms from those with legal Concealed Carry Permits. Knifes, Firearms, or other items deliberately designed to serve as a weapon are excluded
Customers should immediately find a Good Judy (Bartender or Security Person) and advise them if they believe someone possesses a weapon.
Complaints regarding interactions with the Good Judy's staff should be sent to christopher@goodjudysnorthside.com.
Be sure to include the following:
- Date/Time of Incident
- Your Name
- Phone Number
- Summary of the Interaction and your concerns. Include all context from which you feel it's important for us to know.
Polices regarding actions rising to criminality and civil complaints involving our Team Members will be treated the same as for Non-Team Members.
Refunds/Exchanges
Registrations: All Paid Registration Sales are final. This information is also included in the event and ticket information furnished to customers prior to payment. Some Registrations are only for the purpose of providing you reminders of the event. Those with a cost are noted at Registration. Cover for under 21 Guests is as publicized.
Merch Orders: All Merch Sales are final as they are created on demand. In an effort to prevent waste, our merch is created for you specifically after the order. We do not warehouse all the varieties, sizes, and colors. Production and Shipment is managed by a 3rd Party Vendor.
Refunds are only available if the size received does not match your online order or it arrives damaged. Note: Colors may differ when translated to various fabrics and surfaces.
Cocktails: Tried something new and don't like it?. No problem! While we won't refund your drink, we will make a drink of your choosing for you to enjoy at no extra cost.
Donations and Fundraising
The budget for donations is established for the following year and allocated on January 1st. Inquiries should be submitted in advance to christopher@goodjudysnorthside.com.Be sure to include the following:
- Amount of the donation requested
- The name of your organizations and your role within the organization.
- What your organization does to advance LGBTQIA causes and human rights in general
- What percentage of the funds raised by your organization go to the charities or causes that it supports?
- What your plan is to publicize the partnership with Good Judy's
- What similar ideals do believe that Good Judy's and your organization share
- Are there dates in which you need event space for fundraising at Good Judy's? If so, what dates/times are you requesting
- When was the last time you personally visited Good Judy's and/or Somewhere...
- What you like and dislike about Good Judy's and/or Somewhere... from your visit (if applicable).
If we aren't able to accommodate your donation request, we still want your fundraising efforts to be fruitful. With that, we can also collaborate on a fundraiser in the bar to help achieve your goals.

Please note that attempts to influence Xennent Group, Good Judy's, or their staff to circumvent the policies listed above or any internal policies or procedures through intimidation or threats there of, in any form, will be met with a swift and appropriate response in line aligned with our legal rights.
